ABOUT THE WEBSITE // WEBSITE STATEMENT

Most things in my life are done either out of necessity, or out of sheer curiosity. This website is a mix of both. I began pochemuchka.neocities in the summer of 2022 after I started working as a receptionist and housekeeper for an old motel I fell in love with as a teenager. 2022 was spent in almost total isolation; the only human contact I had was either online or guests and coworkers at my job. I needed more mental stimulation to keep me from self-destructive habits. While making a website wasn't foolproof, it did give me a new creative outlet.

It wasn't until 2024 that I began feeling comfortable in how my site was looking, and this was when I was being more social and going out. In order for the site to be its best, I had to be my best, or at least growing. It's now a testament to my emotional growth, my interests and hobbies. It's personal, but I still intend to keep a formal and informative atmosphere that I originally wanted.

I'm not sure what the future has in store for pochemuchka.neocities, but I know it's not going anywhere. Whether I end up leaving it once I feel it's "complete" or if I continue updating it with months between no updates, know I loved working on it. I've begun coming to it when I feel negative emotions and have no other outlet. It's cathartic, peaceful. I can empty my head through the code without hurting myself or others.

ABOUT THE SITEMASTER

My name is Chandler, I am 25 years old and go by strictly they/them pronouns. I work in animal behavior with a focus on managing stress and documenting behavior in shelter dogs. Outside of my job I crochet, write, and occassionally paint. I try to read as much as possible, though I tend to reread the same things to analyze them, with a current interest in A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. My Essays page will have some of my analyses, some of which I no longer agree with but intend to maintain to keep track of what I think and what's changed. I also write about politics and socio-economic issues from a Marxist-Leninist perspective.
